Anti-stress: Relaxation for everyone
We use our minds the whole day to solve problems, socialize, and progress in life. This is great. But every champion needs rest. There is this saying in Bulgarian – “the break makes the champion”.
There is one very simple rule when it comes to finding a break for the mind – use the BODY.
The body naturally possesses the function to balance when given the chance.
However, watching TV shows or binging on social media is still mind working.
The rule is simple but requires a little bit of effort initially. You need to have technique or practice or just a way to transition from THINKING to FEELING. Once you practice something that resonates with you, you will be able to do it almost effortlessly.
The best way is to attend a workshop with a specific technique because it will be much easier to release the tension when you have experienced the technique and successfully tried it a few times.
It is important to know that if you have not used the technique at least a few times in calmer states, the chance to work in an overly tense state is less at the beginning. When you have experience, it is easier. Like in every profession with experience, the simple stuff is effortless.
So how to relax?
The easiest thing to do is lie down on the bed, sofa, or floor and play – NSDR (Non-Sleep Deep Rest) with Dr. Andrew Huberman. You can find it on YouTube.
It is a modern practice based on a branch of yoga called yoga nidra.
Allow yourself to relax. Give this time to you to recharge.
Remember – “Break makes the champion.”
